| Over ten years The Lifestream Curriculum touches every point of a star. |

| Each level of learning takes the student through stages which are labelled "Connectors" and "Beliefs." The smaller green circles are the connectors and the larger yellow circles are the beliefs. (For exact definitions of each circle please visit the curriculum page.) These circles are grouped in this manner as a way of creating a building block format where growth can flourish. This pattern of belief and connector is a reflection of our dualistic world, where cause and effect, desire and fulfillment, govern how we interact with life. This pairing of two's is a subtle seed within this curriculum. Throughout this 10 year course the emphasis remains one of developing a child's own sense of their inner self. Learning becomes a spiralling staircase of reflection and action. Two legs moving at different times but in a way that serves the whole. One leg acting as a connector and the other as the belief. . . Each of the points to the right are sides in the lifestream star of learning. These are a series of progressive learning stages that are specifically enhanced through the use of exercises, stories, and examples. The end goal is a unique spirituality that is directly spawned from the student themselves. Each circle can be compared to a road sign. The size of the road and the landscape is all open to personal interpretation. The curriculum in its entirety relies heavily on the use of adult interaction. A main prerequisite for adult tuition is possession of basic spiritual concepts. However, while the thread that connects and moves this curriculum is spiritually based, most of the applications do not necessarily have to be put in that framework. The continuing goal for the adult tutor is to demonstrate how each step is a continuation and expansion upon the prior lessons. In each year we are balancing the intellect against the feeling nature of a child's personality and the exercises used should illustrate that balance. When children play a game they usually are aware of the end result. "This is why I am playing this game" and "this is what I am getting out of it!" In a way this curriculum is like a game, but with a lot less structure and rules. If a child knows that they are participating in this program because it is an extension of their parents teaching technique, then they will view this "game" as an extension of their play. Thus trusting in the purpose of the end result. The implementation of all ten stages of learning can be as fun or serious as is necessary. It will adjust depending on the child involved, but will also be a direct reflection on the tutors teaching style. Please browse through the following pages which will examine the curriculum in more depth and how you can actively integrate it into your child's development. |
